Oh boy, you’re in for a treat! Starbucks! It’s a wonderful pick me up for busy moms, stressed out college students, overworked corporates, etc. At my former workplace, we actually had a Starbucks on site.
Lucky me, right?
I hit up that bad boy daily and spent almost $10/day on my coffee and pastry addiction. Yikes.
I have no grief about it though (my wallet was crying). It was a tough, stressful job and I’m grateful for a little treat that held me together.
I’m going to show you how to save money at Starbucks.
Ready for it? Here we go:
How to Save Money at Starbucks
Money-saving Coffee Tip #1.) Use coupons
Starbucks coupons, what? Yes, Starbucks coupons, but not the clip from the Sunday paper type of coupons you’re thinking. These coupons are in the form of online gift certificates.
Head to a daily deals site like Groupon, Living Social, etc. and find a 50% off Starbucks gift card deal. They’re more common than you think. You can buy a $10 card for 5 bucks! It loads to your phone easily and then you just hand your cell to the barista to have the coupon code scanned. Easy!
Money-saving Coffee Tip #2.) Split a venti
Split your large coffee. Yes, folks do this and there’s no shame in their game. Order a venti drink and ask for 2 tall cups. Pour the venti into the 2 cups. You just saved 50%! An easy one.
Money-saving Coffee Tip #3.) Hang around for a refill
If you suck down your coffee super quick like me, hang around the coffee shop til you gulp down your brew and get a $.50 refill. Beats paying full price for another one later in the day.
This is one of my new favorite things to do. It’s so sad haha it as a busy mom, I really appreciate the quiet times I get to myself (even in a bustling coffee shop, lol).
Money-saving Coffee Tip #4.) Bring your own cup
Save ten cents by bringing your own cup. I know it’s ten cents but for a Starbucksaholic, it adds up! Plus, you get your favorite brew in your favorite cup. Can’t beat that!
Money-saving Coffee Tip #5.) Get the Starbucks app
Earn rewards for using your app. You get 2 stars for every $1 you spend. Redeem for free food and coffee. Score!
There you have it! My top tips for saving money at Starbucks. What are your secret tips?
